No.40 - Castle Stores
No 40 - In the early 1930s, there was a row of three, near derelict, cottages here. Two of these were demolished and a new shop and residence building was built for Albert and Alice Venn. This became 'Venn's Stores", which operated as such until around 1960 when the Venns retired.

The shop later became "Castle Stores", run by a variety of owners over the years. However, the shop closed around 2020 and currently remains empty.
